PMC (Professional Monitor Company) is a British loudspeaker manufacturer founded in 1991 by Peter Thomas (formerly of the BBC) and Adrian Loader. Based in Luton, England, PMC is renowned for its proprietary Advanced Transmission Line (ATL) bass-loading technology, which places the bass driver at the end of a long, highly damped internal tunnel to deliver deep, controlled, low-distortion bass. PMC speakers are used in many of the world's leading recording studios — including the BBC, Metropolis, and post-production facilities for major film soundtracks — as well as by high-end home audio enthusiasts.
