Tandberg is a renowned Norwegian brand in the HiFi audio and electronics industry, founded by Vebjørn Tandberg in Oslo in 1933. Initially producing radios, loudspeakers, and microphones, Tandberg gained worldwide acclaim for its high-quality radios, tape recorders, and later televisions, with products used by institutions such as NASA and the White House. The company became synonymous with uncompromising quality and innovative design, contributing to its “cult” status among audiophiles, especially in the 1960s and 1970s. After economic difficulties and bankruptcy in the late 1970s, Tandberg's audio division continued as Tandberg Audio, maintaining a legacy of excellence in hi-fi equipment.
