The Tandberg TCP 3015 A CD player was manufactured in Norway between 1986 and 1990. It is a robustly built unit with a 16-bit, 4× oversampled digital-to-analog converter (DAC) that delivers a smooth, natural, and clean sound without coloration or distortion. The player uses a Philips single-beam laser system and discrete bipolar transistors in its analog circuitry, with no capacitors in the signal path and no feedback, aiming for minimal distortion. It features remote control functionality including track, index, and repeat controls. The unit has RCA outputs and a captive power cord, with a power consumption of about 30W. It weighs approximately 12.5 lbs and measures 17.125" W x 3.5" H x 13.75" D. The original price was around 2,500 DM (Deutsche Marks), and it has been reviewed as having excellent tracking and error correction capabilities, playing even flawed discs without audible distress. The player is noted for its musicality and is considered a rare vintage HiFi component.
