About the AN-E SPe HE

The Audio Note AN-E SPe HE is part of the AN-E series, known for being some of the most efficient wide-band speakers of moderate size, with a frequency response from 18 Hz to 23 kHz at -6 dB and efficiency around 97.5 to 98 dB/watt/meter. It features a two-way, rear-ported enclosure with an 8-inch bass/mid driver and a 1-inch soft dome tweeter. The cabinet is constructed from birch plywood with real wood veneer finishes, designed to be placed against walls or in corners to optimize bass performance and room integration. The internal cabling uses high purity silver (AN-SPe17 or AN-SPe19) with silver voice coils, contributing to its high efficiency and dynamic headroom above 108 dB. The crossover is a simple, first-order design with air-cored chokes and selected capacitors, hardwired for precision. The speakers weigh approximately 23 kg each and measure 790mm high, 360mm wide, and 270mm deep. They are well-suited for use with low-power valve amplifiers but can work with any quality amplifier capable of driving a 6-ohm load. The AN-E SPe HE is highly regarded for its musicality, bass extension, and precise imaging.
