About the DAC204
The Weiss Engineering DAC204 is a high-performance digital-to-analog converter designed for both professional studio and audiophile use. It features pristine low-jitter conversion using four oversampling sigma-delta D/A converters per channel in parallel for enhanced signal-to-noise ratio. It supports easy switching between digital sources including USB, Toslink, and RCA (AES/EBU or S/PDIF), and converts DSD to PCM. Outputs include balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA analog, plus digital AES/EBU via XLR, RCA, and BNC for digital-to-digital conversion. Front panel controls include input selector, DSD to PCM switches, and power switch; rear has toggle switches for output level (-10/-20 dB). It includes an external power supply with linear regulators for sensitive voltages to minimize digital noise. Available in silver finish only. Note: A MK2 version exists with updated ES928 Pro DAC chip, but this covers the standard DAC204. Optional PSU102 upgrade power supply available.
