About the BDA-3
The Bryston BDA-3 is a high-performance digital-to-analog converter featuring 10 digital inputs, including 4 HDMI (2-channel), 2 asynchronous USB, AES/EBU, S/PDIF RCA, S/PDIF BNC, and Toslink, allowing connection to a wide range of digital sources. It supports PCM up to 32-bit/384 kHz and DSD up to DSD-256 (DSDx4) via USB, and can also accept PCM and SACD/DSD over HDMI. The BDA-3 uses two 32-bit AKM 4490EQ Veritas stereo DAC chips in a dual-mono configuration, combined with Bryston's fully discrete Class A balanced analog output stage and separate power supplies for analog and digital sections to reduce noise, crosstalk, and distortion. An ultra-precise reclocking circuit minimizes jitter. Analog outputs are provided on balanced XLR (4 V) and unbalanced RCA (2 V) connectors. The unit also offers HDMI video pass-through (up to 4K/30 fps, HDMI 1.4a, HDMI 4 with HDCP 2.2) so that incoming HDMI video can be routed to an external display while the BDA-3 handles 2-channel audio.
