The STATEMENT Linestage by Valve Amplification Company is a flagship line preamplifier designed as a high current, low impedance, balanced Class A1 triode vacuum tube amplifier. It employs high precision wideband transformers to convert balanced signals to single-ended operation transparently. The chassis is machined from high-grade non-ferrous aluminum to provide superior RF rejection, enhancing resolution and background silence. The unit features multiple inputs including five regular line inputs (three balanced), and a fixed volume 'cinema' input for multichannel or other level-controlled sources. The volume control is a massive, motorized, four-section brass-cased potentiometer weighing over two kilograms, enabling remote control without compromising sound quality. The circuit design avoids negative feedback and uses transformer coupling to eliminate unwanted interactions between components, resulting in exceptional coherence, presence, and realism.
