About the C-3900S

The Accuphase C-3900S is the latest flagship precision stereo preamplifier, succeeding the C-3900 introduced in 2020 and replacing it as of October 2025. It represents over 50 years of Accuphase preamplifier development, incorporating advanced Dual Balanced AAVA volume control with ANCC (Accuphase Noise and Distortion Cancelling Circuit) for 30% lower noise than predecessors, high-gain discrete current feedback input amplification, ultra-low noise output with eight parallel summing amplifiers per channel, and a refined headphone amplifier with parallel push-pull output. The dual-mono power supply uses separate toroidal transformers and 12 x 10,000 µF filter capacitors for each channel. Mechanical enhancements include a precision-machined aluminum volume sensor with DC motor drive for smooth, silent operation and 115-step L/R balance adjustment. It offers extensive connectivity with 4 balanced and 7 line inputs, 2 balanced and 2 line outputs, plus recorder and external preamp inputs. The chassis features a champagne-colored front panel, solid wood cabinet, and cast iron feet for vibration isolation.
