About the Delphi MKII
The Oracle Delphi MKII turntable is both a work of art and a high-performance audio component. It features a Pabst DC motor with a 1 lb flywheel for better speed accuracy, a thicker base, and a new spring suspension system that reduces acoustic breakthrough. The motor drive is smoothed by a capacitor bank, addressing earlier issues of motor noise and wow/flutter. The suspension system allows audiophiles to tune the turntable precisely to their tonearm using a set of springs. It includes a combined cartridge alignment protractor and stroboscope for precise speed setting. Sonically, it is close in performance to the VPI HW-19 and superior in naturalness to the SOTA Star Sapphire, though it has a slight loss of deep bass and some midrange dynamics due to its freely floating suspension design. The Delphi MKII is praised for its ease of setup improvements and overall sound quality enhancements compared to the original Delphi.
