About the LPA2

The Audio-Technica AT-LPA2 is a fully manual, belt-drive turntable with a clear acrylic chassis and acrylic platter, designed to deliver a pure, phono-level analog signal with no USB, Bluetooth, or built-in phono stage. A 30 mm transparent acrylic plinth and 20 mm thick acrylic platter provide high rigidity and effective vibration damping for stable, low-resonance playback. The deck uses an external DC servo motor control and power supply unit for electronic 33 1/3 and 45 RPM speed selection, isolating motor control and mains circuitry from the turntable body to reduce noise and interference. Its static-balanced straight carbon tonearm (effective length 223.6 mm) offers adjustable height (VTA), downforce, and a thread-suspended anti-skate mechanism, and is supplied with multiple counterweights to accommodate a range of cartridge masses. The AT-LPA2 comes factory-fitted with Audio-Technica's AT-OC9XEN moving coil cartridge, featuring a 0.3 x 0.7 mil nude elliptical stylus, high-purity PCOCC coils, 0.35 mV output, and a recommended load of 100 ohms or greater, delivering detailed sound with excellent channel separation and low distortion but requiring an MC-capable phono stage or step-up transformer. The turntable includes a machined aluminum headshell, removable hinged dust cover, 45 RPM adapter, RCA cable, ground wire, two counterweights, and anti-skate weights, with the main chassis measuring approximately 17 inches W x 5.3 inches H x 13 inches D and weighing about 19 lb.
