About the Gold GS10

The Monitor Audio Gold Signature GS10 is the smallest model in the Gold Reference Series, designed by Monitor Audio's experienced team led by Dean Hartley. It is a rear-vented two-way loudspeaker combining a 1" tweeter made of Ceramic-Coated Aluminum Magnesium (C-CAM) alloy and a 6.5" metal-cone woofer, both proprietary designs. The tweeter dome is gold-anodized and recessed behind wire mesh, with a frequency response extending up to 43kHz. The woofer features a dimpled cone to reduce cone breakup modes, a diecast chassis for minimal acoustic obstruction, and a rubber roll surround for high dynamic range. The speaker uses a flared 2" diameter rear port with longitudinal ridges (HIVe2 technology) to reduce turbulence and improve airflow, enhancing bass power and transient response. The crossover frequency is 2.7kHz, with a frequency response of 40Hz to 43kHz ±3dB, nominal impedance of 8 ohms, and sensitivity of 88dB/2.83V/m. Recommended amplification is between 40 and 100 watts. The GS10 delivers a solid, clear, and stable soundstage with precise instrument placement, suitable for modestly powered homes and smaller rooms. For larger orchestral music or bigger rooms, larger models in the series are recommended.
