The KEF LS-50 is a compact, high-performance two-way bass-reflex loudspeaker designed for audiophiles and home theater enthusiasts. It features KEF's 12th-generation Uni-Q driver array, which places a 1" vented aluminum dome tweeter concentrically in the center of a 5.25" magnesium/aluminum alloy mid/bass driver. This design provides wide and even dispersion with minimal interference between drivers, resulting in a spacious and authentic soundstage. The cabinet is made from heavily braced MDF with a curved front baffle made of Dough Moulding Compound, ensuring rigidity and minimal resonance. The elliptical reflex port is designed to reduce turbulence and distortion. The LS-50 is tuned for smaller rooms but includes foam plugs to adjust bass output if needed. It has a frequency response of approximately 79Hz to 28kHz (±3dB), a nominal impedance of 8 ohms, and a sensitivity of 85dB. The speaker measures 11.9" H x 7.9" W x 11" D and weighs about 7.2 kg (15.8 lbs) each. It is available in multiple matte finishes including Carbon Black, Titanium Grey, Mineral Blue, and Royal Blue Special Edition. The LS-50 is a passive speaker requiring an external amplifier rated between 40 and 100 watts. It delivers a maximum output of 106dB and is praised for its detailed, spacious, and natural sound reproduction, making it one of KEF's most acclaimed mini-monitor speakers.
