The Magnepan 2.7i is a three-way, full-range planar magnetic floorstanding loudspeaker that combines aluminum foil bass and midrange drivers on a Mylar diaphragm with a 40-inch True Ribbon Tweeter for extended, highly resolving high frequencies. Positioned between the 1.7i and 3.7i in Magnepan's lineup, it is voiced and priced to offer a balance of high-end performance and relative affordability, and is particularly well suited to listeners who want true-ribbon performance in rooms where the larger models may not fit. The 2.7i is a dipole panel design with a specified frequency response of 40 Hz–30 kHz (±3 dB), sensitivity of 86 dB at 500 Hz / 2.83 V / 1 m, and a 4-ohm nominal impedance, making it appropriate for robust solid-state or high-current amplifiers. Each speaker measures approximately 71" x 22" x 1.75" and weighs about 48–52 lb, using aluminum foil conductors for both bass and midrange sections bonded to a Mylar film to minimize mass and improve transient response. Standard cosmetic options include multiple wood or aluminum trims and several fabric colors, with T-feet included and optional oval bases available.
