About Magnepan
Magnepan is an American loudspeaker manufacturer founded in 1969 by engineer Jim Winey in White Bear Lake, Minnesota, where the company remains family-owned and operated today. The company pioneered planar-magnetic speaker technology — marketed as Magneplanar — in which ultra-low-mass aluminum conductors bonded to a thin Mylar film vibrate between arrays of bar magnets, producing sound with exceptional speed, coherence, and tonal accuracy. Often called "Maggies" by enthusiasts, Magnepan speakers deliver a full-range dipole presentation that has earned a devoted following in the high-end audio community for over five decades.
