About the CC3

The Magnepan CC-3 center channel speaker uses two planar-magnetic drivers with a crossover point at 900Hz, covering a frequency range from approximately 80Hz to 20kHz. It features a 31" x 2.5" tweeter (32.5 square inches) and a 155 square inch bass driver. The speaker weighs about 15 pounds and measures 36" wide, 11" high, and 5.5" deep, which is nearly 3" less deep than its predecessor, the CC-2. A unique design element is a flat section in the center of the speaker that reduces bass cancellation typical in small dipolar speakers, effectively extending the bass response by an octave. This makes the CC-3 suitable for use with bass management systems or subwoofers, providing a full-range center channel solution without added circuitry complexity. Sensitivity is rated at 85-86 dB at 2.83V/m, and it handles recommended power between 50 and 250 watts. The CC-3 is praised for its wide dispersion, full-range extension, and natural sound, making it arguably the best center channel Magnepan has produced. It is designed to integrate well with Magnepan's left and right speakers for a cohesive surround sound experience.
