The Magnepan MG-3.7 (also referred to as 3.7i in later iterations) is a floorstanding planar magnetic speaker renowned for its dipole design, delivering exceptional phase coherence, imaging, and transparency. It incorporates a true ribbon tweeter for seamless high-frequency integration, quasi-ribbon planar magnetic drivers for bass and midrange, and requires inward angling for optimal performance. Recommended for amplifiers over 60W due to its power demands, it excels in detail retrieval, dynamics, and soundstage while maintaining a nominal 4 Ohm impedance. Available in various wood and aluminum trims with fabric options. Successor models like 3.7x offer upgraded crossovers but the original remains a benchmark.
