The Sonus Faber Cremona Elipsa is a three-way floorstanding loudspeaker designed with an elliptical shape cabinet made from a combination of sandwich construction using hand-selected wood layers and solid maple. The cabinet includes strategically placed sub-structural ribs to control resonances and standing waves. It features a 25 mm ultra dynamic ring radiator tweeter, a 150 mm midrange cone driver with Symmetric Drive Motor System and black wood fiber cone treated for break-up control, and a 260 mm lightweight aluminum/magnesium alloy woofer with special coaxial anti-compressors to reduce cavity resonance and distortion. The crossover is a non-resonant second order design with optimized phase characteristics and crossover points at 250 Hz and 2,300 Hz. The frequency response ranges from 35 Hz to 30,000 Hz with tuning ports included. Sensitivity is 91 dB SPL (2.83 V/1m). The speaker measures approximately 124.5 cm tall, 55 cm wide, and 38 cm deep. It is finished with a leather-covered panel at the base and includes adjustable spikes for stability.
