About the 10.5
The Brinkmann 10.5 tonearm features a unipivot design with very high precision machining and an effective mass of about 10 grams, making it suitable for a wide range of modern cartridges. It has a counterweight and rotation axis made of high-quality steel, and an anodised aluminium tube treated for anti-resonance. The tonearm includes a fixed capsule holder and allows easy modification of internal wiring. It uses a fully hydraulic lifting system and a magnetic anti-skating mechanism for frictionless operation. The arm has a double gimballed suspension with precision ball bearings free of play, ensuring precise and frictionless tracking. It also offers infinitely variable azimuth adjustment and a headshell that can be rotated ±5° for fine alignment. The tonearm is praised for its refined anti-resonant construction and high torsional stability, raising the analytical capacity and resolution of high-performance turntables to exceptional levels. It weighs approximately 300 grams with a 180-gram counterweight and supports cartridge weights from 4 to 16 grams. The effective length is 259.8 mm with an overhang of 15.8 mm, and it fits turntables designed for 9-inch arms while also accommodating 12-inch arm bases. The surface of the arm tube is specially anodised for resonance control, and the tonearm is considered one of the best in the world, highly recommended by reviewers globally.
