About the BeoLab 5

The BeoLab 5 is a revolutionary loudspeaker from Bang & Olufsen, designed to deliver superior sound quality and freedom in placement and listening position. It features a 4-way active design with four dedicated ICEpower Class D amplifiers totaling 2500 watts output. The speaker covers the full audible range from 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz with very low distortion and noise. Key technologies include Acoustic Lens Technology (ALT) for wide directivity, Adaptive Bass Control (ABC) for room-adaptive bass response, and advanced digital signal processing (DSP) with a 32-bit floating point processor. The speaker has a unique cone-shaped design with drivers arranged vertically and a built-in microphone that automatically calibrates bass response to the room acoustics. It supports multiple inputs including Power Link, phono line, and digital SPDIF. The BeoLab 5 weighs 61 kg and measures 97 cm in height with a 49 cm diameter. It was designed by David Lewis and was produced from 2003 until around 2017. The speaker is considered one of the best domestic loudspeakers ever made, combining emotional experience with technological excellence.
