About Merlin Music Systems
Merlin Music Systems was a boutique American audio brand renowned for its high-performance loudspeakers, particularly the VSM (Virtual Stage Monitor) and TSM (Two-way Studio Monitor) lines. Founded by designer Bobby Palkovic in 1982 and based in upstate New York, Merlin speakers developed a cult following for their clarity, coherence, and natural musicality. The VSM received multiple Stereophile Class A ratings and was admired for its use of advanced drivers (like the Dynaudio Esotar tweeter) and unique solutions such as the BAM (Bass Augmentation Module). Merlin ceased operations after Palkovic's passing in 2015, but its products are still prized among audiophiles and enjoy support from some former dealers and enthusiasts.
