About Infinity
Infinity Systems is an American loudspeaker manufacturer founded in 1968 in Los Angeles, California by Arnie Nudell, John Ulrick, and Cary Christie. The company became renowned for pioneering planar-magnetic driver technology, introducing the EMIT (Electromagnetic Induction Tweeter) and EMIM (Electromagnetic Induction Midrange) transducers that defined a generation of high-end loudspeakers. Infinity's flagship IRS (Infinity Reference System) series, culminating in the IRS V with its 76 EMIT tweeters and 2000-watt servo-controlled bass towers, remains among the most ambitious loudspeaker systems ever produced. Harman International acquired Infinity in 1983; the brand continues under Harman, now a Samsung subsidiary, producing home and car audio speakers.
