About the Deluxe 225
The VTL Deluxe 225 is a monoblock tube power amplifier using eight EL34 output tubes in a push-pull configuration, with 12AT7 and 12BH7 dual triodes in the input and driver stages. It features a simple signal path, large custom power and output transformers, and is optimized for a 5-ohm load. The original EL34 version was produced in the early 1990s and is no longer manufactured; later VTL versions replaced the EL34s with KT90 tubes.
