About the VS1
Compact, sealed-box active subwoofer using a 10" extreme-duty long-throw driver suspended by a double-thick butyl rubber surround and driven by a massive magnet structure and 70 mm voice coil. The built-in 300 W RMS / 600 W peak high-current amplifier operates with high-bias Class A in the preamp section and Class A/B output stage, providing fast transient response and strong output down to around 20 Hz. An adjustable electronic low-pass crossover from 40-100 Hz with a 12 dB/octave slope, phase control, crossover-bypass, and level control allows integration with main speakers. The sealed cabinet is relatively compact (approx. 11" W x 16" D x 13" H) with finishes such as Blonde Maple, African Hazelwood, Black Ash, and Dark Cherry, designed to mate with Von Schweikert monitors like the VR-1.
