The Velodyne Direct Drive 10 (DD-10+) is a compact yet powerful subwoofer featuring a 10" forward-firing woofer powered by a proprietary 1250W RMS Class-D amplifier with 3000W dynamic output. It incorporates advanced digital signal processing with microprocessor controls and Velodyne's patented digital high-gain servo technology for low distortion (<0.5%). The woofer uses a fiberglass Rohacell laminate cone with a 35 lb magnet and a six-layer voice coil for fast, accurate bass response. The subwoofer offers a frequency response of approximately 15-120 Hz ±3 dB, adjustable low-pass crossover (40-199 Hz), high-pass crossover (80-100 Hz), phase control (0-180°), and polarity adjustment. It includes an 8-band parametric equalizer with automatic and manual room EQ calibration via a supplied calibrated microphone and USB interface. Inputs and outputs include balanced XLR, line-level RCA, speaker-level, and microphone inputs. The unit weighs about 75 lbs and measures 14.2" H x 13" W x 16.5" D. It is designed for both home theater and high-fidelity music applications, offering multiple presets and remote control for ease of use. The DD-10+ is noted for its low distortion, high output (up to 115 dB SPL), and precise bass control, making it one of the premier subwoofers in its class.
