About the HGS-15

The Velodyne HGS-15 is a high-gain servo-controlled subwoofer featuring a 15-inch forward-firing woofer with a 12.7-inch piston diameter, tandem 3-inch push-pull voice coils, and a massive 380 oz (24 lbs) magnet structure. It is powered by a built-in Class D amplifier delivering 1250 watts RMS and 3000 watts peak power. The subwoofer incorporates an accelerometer-based servo control system for precise cone motion control, reducing distortion and improving accuracy. It offers adjustable low-pass crossover from 40 to 120 Hz, selectable high-pass crossover outputs at 80 or 100 Hz, and selectable subsonic filters at 15 or 35 Hz. Additional features include balanced XLR inputs, line-level RCA inputs and outputs, speaker-level inputs and outputs with 5-way binding posts, signal sensing auto on/off, variable volume control, and selectable phase control (0° or 180°). The frequency response is 18 Hz to 120 Hz ±3 dB, with harmonic distortion less than 0.5%. The enclosure is magnetically shielded for video use and has a compact footprint measuring approximately 17.5" x 18" x 20" and weighs about 80 lbs. This subwoofer is designed for both home theater and music applications, delivering deep, accurate bass with high output and low distortion.
