The Supratek Cabernet Dual is a unique tube preamplifier with two completely separate circuits optimized for bass and mid/treble frequencies, allowing bi-amping or precise subwoofer control. It uses 6SN7 tubes for the bass circuit and TJ 101D tubes for the mid/treble circuit, with a 5AR4 rectifier tube in the power supply. The preamp features variable gain levels for each output, adjustable output impedance for the bass circuit, and multiple input options including five single-ended RCA inputs and one balanced XLR input. It includes an outboard power supply with tube rectification and offers a high level of transparency, tone color, and microdynamics without the typical warmth or romantic sound of some tube preamps.
