The GrooveMaster Vintage Direct PBN-DP6 by PBN Audio is a direct-drive turntable built around the classic Denon DP-6000 motor unit from 1976, fully restored and updated with modern electronics for highly precise, quartz-locked speed stability and long-term reliability. It employs a 1.8kg die-cast aluminum platter with a 312mm diameter, driven by an AC servo motor with a bi-directional servo speed control system, offering 33.33 and 45 rpm with pitch adjustable by more than plus or minus 6% via a front-panel dial. Speed accuracy is specified at 99.998%, with wow and flutter of 0.015% WRMS, speed deviation under 0.002%, a DC electrical brake for smooth start and stop, and a signal-to-noise ratio of 77 dB or more. Records are clamped via a distinctive drop-down cap that holds LPs tightly to the platter to eliminate wobble and improve groove contact. The plinth is custom-made from three layers of solid hardwood with grains oriented at 120 degrees for resonance-free stability, and the DP6 comes standard with a 10-inch Jelco SA750E tonearm with options for additional arms for stereo and mono setups.
