About the Dragon

The VPI Industries Dragon is a premium analog turntable featuring a highly damped vinyl-wrapped MDF and aluminum chassis, a 20-pound 12-inch aluminum platter with MDF damping layer rotating on an inverted phosphor bronze bushing with stainless steel shaft, and a high-torque 300 RPM AC synchronous motor in a mechanically isolated enclosure with integrated drive electronics (two low-distortion oscillators and class-AB amplification). It employs a precision-machined pulley with +/- 0.0005-inch accuracy and a unique triple-belt drive system for superior speed stability. The turntable includes the JMW-10-3D (or Prime Gimbal 10-3D) tonearm with full gimbal bearing, VPI copper weave internal wiring, adjustable VTA/SRA, azimuth, and anti-skate. Custom leather finish available in red or gray, machined Delrin and aluminum feet with vibration-damping polymer core, and HW-40 isolation feet ensure minimal resonance and vibration.
