About the TX-8220

The Onkyo TX-8220 is a 2-channel stereo receiver with a high-current discrete amplification system rated at 45 watts per channel into 8 ohms (20 Hz to 20 kHz, 0.08% THD, 2 channels driven) and 100 watts per channel into 6 ohms for dynamic listening. It employs WRAT (Wide Range Amplifier Technology) and Optimum Gain Volume Circuitry for wide bandwidth, low distortion, and stable stereo imaging. A built-in 192 kHz/24-bit DAC (PCM1754) handles digital sources for high-resolution playback. Connectivity includes Bluetooth wireless audio, an MM phono input for turntables, four analog line-level RCA inputs, one optical and one coaxial digital input, a subwoofer pre-out, and A/B speaker terminals for driving two pairs of speakers. The AM/FM tuner offers 40 station presets and RDS, and the receiver includes a headphone jack with volume control, bass/treble/balance tone controls, and a Direct Mode to bypass tone circuits.
