About the A-9050

The Onkyo A-9050 is a high-performance stereo integrated amplifier introduced around 2012, combining classic analog power with modern digital audio processing. It delivers 75 watts per channel into 8 ohms at 1 kHz with 0.08% THD (FTC) and 65 watts per channel into 4 ohms at 1 kHz with 0.08% THD, using WRAT (Wide Range Amplifier Technology), Three-Stage Inverted Darlington Circuitry, and DIDRC (Dynamic Intermodulation Distortion Reduction Circuitry) for clean, dynamic sound with reduced noise and distortion. A built-in Wolfson 192 kHz/24-bit DAC (WM8718) handles three digital inputs (two coaxial, one optical), accepting up to 24-bit/96 kHz PCM and enabling high-quality playback of lossless formats from digital sources. The A-9050 includes a moving-magnet phono input for vinyl playback, five analog line-level inputs, pre-out and line-out, a mono subwoofer pre-out, front-panel headphone output, and speaker A/B switching, with gold-plated RCA terminals and banana plug-compatible speaker posts for secure connections. Features such as Phase Matching Bass Technology, Direct Mode to bypass tone controls, and adjustable bass, treble, and balance allow flexible sound tuning. The amplifier uses a high-output power transformer and twin 10,000 uF capacitors for strong current delivery, housed in a rigid 1.6 mm full flat anti-resonant chassis with aluminum front panel. Dimensions are approximately 435 x 139 x 330 mm, weighing around 8.2 kg, supplied with the RC-830S remote control.
