The Odyssey Stratos Extreme stereo amplifier offers 150 Watts RMS per channel into 8 Ohms with stability down to 2 Ohms, operating in Class A/AB mode. It features a frequency response from 2 Hz to 400,000 Hz, very low distortion (<0.04% THD), and a high damping factor (>500). The amplifier uses high-quality Sanken Epitaxial Planar Transistors (2SA1216 & 2SC2922) and a robust 400 VA Plitron transformer. It includes both RCA and XLR inputs (bridged), anti-vibration dual thickness PCB, and substantial power storage with 60,000µF capacitance. Weighing 54 lbs (24.5 kg), its dimensions are 19" W x 18" D x 7" H (48.3 x 45.7 x 17.8 cm). The Stratos Extreme is praised for its increased resolution of detail, controlled and punchy bass, and expansive 3D soundstage, making it suitable for demanding speakers and audiophile systems. Optional upgrades include increased capacitance, premium faceplates, and binding posts. It is a handmade, hand-soldered amplifier with a reputation for smooth, grain-free treble and excellent imaging and soundstaging.
