About the Khartago Extreme
The Odyssey Audio Khartago Stereo Extreme is a high-performance stereo power amplifier delivering 130 watts RMS per channel into 8 ohms. It features a Class A/AB design with the ability to drive difficult speaker loads stable down to 2 ohms, making it suitable for demanding audio systems. This model is an enhanced version of the base Khartago amplifier, incorporating higher performance parts such as Nichicon Muse capacitors, Vishay/Dale resistors, and extra WIMA metal film capacitors. It includes unbalanced RCA inputs, a power on/off switch, and solid speaker binding posts compatible with spades or bananas. The amplifier is known for its magnificent sound quality, high current delivery, and robust build, weighing approximately 30 kg (66 lbs). It is designed and crafted in the USA with an anti-vibration dual thickness PCB and uses Sanken Epitaxial Planar Transistors (2SA1216 & 2SC2922). The amplifier has a frequency response from 2 Hz to 400 kHz, a damping factor greater than 500, and a total capacitance memory bank of 120,000µF. Power consumption when idle is about 30 watts. Dimensions are approximately 18" wide x 16" deep x 4.25" high. The amplifier is highly regarded for its smooth, detailed sound and ability to drive a wide range of speakers effectively.
