About the Hyperspace
The Nottingham Analogue Hyperspace turntable is a substantial and meticulously engineered analogue playback device. It features a heavy 58mm thick alloy platter with a 25mm thick graphite mat that significantly reduces background noise and dynamic wow, resulting in effortless and stable sound reproduction. The platter is supported by a unique oil-pumping admiralty bronze bearing with a carbide thrust pump arrangement that ensures smooth rotation, reduces noise, and resists wear. The motor is isolated from the chassis to minimize resonance, and the ratio of platter weight to motor power is optimized so that the platter and armboard are minimally affected by motor vibrations. The plinth is finished in high gloss black, and the turntable can accommodate tonearms up to 12 inches, including dual-arm setups. The design philosophy emphasizes the use of carefully chosen materials that complement each other to maximize damping and neutrality, avoiding coloration in sound. The Hyperspace is effectively an evolution of the Spacedeck design but with significantly increased mass and improved bearing technology. It is built to order in Nottingham, UK, with a typical build time of around six weeks. The turntable is sold with or without Nottingham Analogue's own Ace Space tonearm, a carbon fiber uni-pivot arm known for its natural tonal balance and dynamic performance. No cartridge is included by default. The Hyperspace is highly regarded for its superb engineering, neutral and detailed sound, and excellent value in the high-end analogue market.
