About the G68XXD

The Meridian G68XXD is a G-Series digital surround controller and AV processor variant offering Meridian's 48-bit DSP engine, full surround decoding (Dolby Digital, DTS, MPEG Surround, Ambisonics, THX Ultra2), multiple digital and analogue inputs, multichannel digital and balanced analogue XLR outputs, room correction, and legacy video switching (component/composite/S-video) for high-end home theater and music systems. It uses multiple Motorola/Freescale 56xxx processors running at 150MHz with 48-bit internal precision, and supports all analogue inputs converted at 24-bit, 96kHz. The XXD variant adds multichannel digital outputs alongside the eight balanced analogue outputs on XLR connectors. Video connectivity includes composite, S-video, and component inputs and switching, but no HDMI switching, reflecting its design era. The chassis follows Meridian's G-Series aluminium casework design, approximately 440mm wide and weighing around 10 kg.
