The Meridian 568 Digital Surround Processor combines a fully digital surround sound processor with a high-performance digital preamplifier. It converts all incoming analog signals to digital via high-quality ADCs and processes all signals digitally, allowing sophisticated processing without noise or phase degradation. It supports all current two-channel and multi-channel audio formats including PCM, Dolby Digital (AC-3), DTS, and MPEG, and includes proprietary modes such as Meridian Lossless Packing (MLP). The 568 features high-resolution upsampling to 88.2kHz or 96kHz at 24-bit depth, dejittering via FIFO memory, and can output digital signals directly to Meridian DSP loudspeakers to maintain digital signal integrity until the final stage. It has multiple analog and digital inputs and outputs, including balanced XLR outputs for main channels, and supports extensive surround sound decoding and bass management tailored to music or movie formats. The unit is finished with a high gloss Perspex top and includes a full-featured remote control. It weighs 5kg and measures 321mm x 88mm x 332mm.
