The Lampizator Big 7 Balanced DAC V/C is a premium digital-to-analog converter that integrates the entire Level 7 DAC and more into a single large chassis, improving grounding and power delivery with about 20 separate power supplies. It features directly heated triode (DHT) tubes such as 101D, 45, 245UX, or 2A3 with a heater voltage selector switch, and uses high-quality output capacitors like Jupiter Copper Wax or Duelund Cast Copper caps. The DAC supports PCM up to 32 bit/384 kHz and DSD up to 512x with a discrete resistor ladder chip-less PCM option. The balanced topology and volume control with remote are standard or optional features. The design includes separate transformer windings for tube and digital circuits, tube rectification with tubes like 5C3S or 274B, and silver wiring with Teflon insulation. The Big 7 MK2 and MK3 versions include firmware and digital section improvements, better DSD engines, and enhanced triode operating schemes for more open and dynamic sound. Dimensions are approximately 45 cm wide, 53 cm deep, and 13 cm tall, weighing 16 kg net and consuming about 40 watts of power. It is highly regarded for its warm, intimate sound, especially with DSD playback, and can also function as a preamplifier with volume control and remote.
