The dCS Paganini DAC is a state-of-the-art digital-to-analog converter utilizing the proprietary dCS Ring DAC™ technology, a discrete balanced design that supports all high-resolution musical formats including DSD. It features standard AES3, S/PDIF, and IEEE 1394 digital inputs, allowing compatibility with a wide range of digital sources such as CD/SACD transports, digital streamers, and music servers. The DAC includes optimized DSP filters that enable users to fine-tune the sound to their personal preference, extracting every nuance of musical detail and emotion. It offers a digital volume control that permits direct connection to power amplifiers, eliminating the need for a preamplifier, with selectable maximum output levels of two or six volts to suit different amplifier or loudspeaker combinations. The unit can operate in Master mode to provide a clock for source components or be locked to an external word clock generated by a dCS Master Clock, significantly improving performance by reducing jitter. The chassis is constructed from aerospace-grade aluminum with laminated acoustic damping panels to reduce vibration and magnetic interference.
