The Ayon Audio S-5 is a tube-based network player that combines a preamplifier, streamer, and DAC in one unit, designed to be a primary digital source for high-fidelity audio systems. It features a 192kHz/24-bit conversion rate, uses vacuum tubes (4x 6H30 and 4x 6Z4) in its output and power supply stages, and delivers a dynamic range greater than 118dB with channel separation over 105dB across the audible frequency range. The S-5 offers a large soundstage, fast transient response, pure resolution of low-level details, and expanded dynamic contrasts with enhanced bass slam and definition. It supports multiple digital inputs including S/PDIF (RCA, TosLink, AES/EBU, BNC), I2S, and USB for mass storage devices, as well as wired and wireless network connections. The analog section includes multiple line inputs and outputs (RCA and XLR), with analog volume control and a remote control for convenience. The unit has a 3.5" QVGA TFT display and supports internet radio and UPnP streaming. The design emphasizes a short signal path with no solid-state devices in the analog tube output signal path, ensuring pure musical sound and high reliability. Dimensions are approximately 48 x 39 x 12 cm, and the main unit weighs about 12 kg.
