About the Big 5

The LampizatOr Big 5 DAC is an advanced digital-to-analog converter that builds upon the Level 4 design with a much larger chassis and enhanced components. It features four beefier tubed power supplies, a more sophisticated digital section, and premium capacitors. The Big 5 supports USB, balanced topology, huge output capacitors, volume control with remote operation, analog preamp inputs, and bi-amping outputs. It is hand-built over a week and offers marginally better sound than the Level 4 due to its larger power supply. The DAC supports PCM up to 385 kHz and DSD128x decoding, with AES/EBU and SPDIF digital inputs. It includes tube rectification, a tube analog stage, and premium capacitors for superior audio performance. The Big 5 was discontinued in 2017 and replaced by newer models such as the Atlantic and Lite7 DAC families.
