About the M7 Heritage

The Kondo Audio Note Japan M7 Heritage is a stereo tube preamplifier that builds upon the iconic M7 preamplifier first released in the late 1980s. It preserves the dynamic and emotional sound signature of the original while incorporating updated technology and craftsmanship. The phono amplifier section uses a modular design with SRPP circuits employing ECC803S (12AX7) tubes and 6072 (12AY7) tubes for plate and cathode followers, achieving precise RIAA equalization and low impedance output. The line amplifier section also uses 6072 tubes in a direct-coupled plate follower and cathode follower configuration, delivering strong driving capability and low output impedance. The power supply features a shunt-type DC heater circuit for voltage regulation and ripple reduction. High-quality Audio Note original silver foil capacitors, electrolytic capacitors, silver lead resistors, and carefully selected components ensure tonal balance and reliability. The M7 Heritage offers a wide frequency response, low distortion, and low noise, making it suitable for modern high-end audio systems while retaining the classic tube sound character.
