About the Overture PM-2i

The Kondo Audio Note Japan Overture PM-2i integrated amplifier embodies Audio Note's philosophy of an ideal integrated amplifier, offering a simple yet excellently balanced audio system. It combines the high power output of EL34 pentode tubes with the rich musicality of triode operation, delivering 32W + 32W at 1kHz with 1.5% THD. The amplifier features a new design guideline "Cleaner with more Triode Splendidness," refined through knowledge gained from Kagura research and applications. Improvements include a newly designed output transformer with a third winding for negative feedback, circuit redesign and re-tuning for power and sound quality coexistence, a heavily improved power supply section for outstanding channel separation, and upgraded Kondo original silver foil signal capacitors for reliability. The amplifier uses four EL34 tubes, two 12BH7 tubes, and two 6072 tubes, with selectable output impedance of 4Ω or 8Ω. It supports four pairs of RCA unbalanced inputs with 50kΩ impedance and features a frequency response from 10Hz to 90kHz. The chassis measures 438mm wide, 201mm high, and 409mm deep, weighing 26kg. It requires about 15 minutes of warm-up to reach nominal sound quality. This amplifier is designed for true music lovers to enjoy a wide range of music from delicate solo performances to large orchestras, delivering wild dynamics and micro-detail textures with a natural musical presentation.
