About the Scarlatti Transport
The dCS Scarlatti Transport is the SACD/CD disc-reading component of the multi-chassis Scarlatti Digital Playback System. It uses a Teac/Esoteric VRDS Neo-based mechanism for extremely precise disc handling and data retrieval, playing CDs and SACDs and upsampling CD data to DSD. It transmits both CD-derived DSD and native SACD DSD over dCS-encrypted IEEE 1394 (FireWire) and Enhanced Dual AES digital interfaces for connection to the Scarlatti DAC or Upsampler.
