About the Callisto Eclipse
The Aesthetix Callisto Eclipse is an advanced all-tube linestage preamplifier designed for the most demanding audio systems and listeners. It features fully balanced differential circuitry from input to output, including internal balancing of single-ended inputs, which results in superior common-mode noise rejection and a cleaner sound. The unit uses an innovative mechanically switched discrete resistor volume control with 46 positions per channel, employing Roederstein resistors to maximize resolution at any listening level. It has separate volume controls and input selectors for each channel, and the amplification and output stages use a total of 8 tubes. The power supply is housed in a separate chassis and is vacuum tube regulated, also using 8 tubes, to eliminate transformer noise interference. The Eclipse edition incorporates Peter Moncrief's Stealth Capacitors, which dramatically reduce signal reflections and improve sound clarity, spatial imaging, and dynamic range. The chassis is made from machined aluminum billet with constrained layer damping using advanced adhesives and features Harmonic Resolution Systems Nimbus Couplers to reduce mechanical noise. The Callisto Eclipse offers six inputs: the first two can be RCA or balanced XLR, while the remaining four are RCA only. Outputs include two sets of XLR and two sets of RCA per channel. The Eclipse edition also allows for customizable metal finishes on the faceplate, rings, knobs, dials, and logo for personalized aesthetics.
