About the Symmetrical
The NAT Audio Symmetrical is a premium line preamplifier designed with a dual-mono, fully balanced circuit configuration that uses 12 tubes (6 per channel) operating in pure class-A triode mode with zero loop feedback. It includes military-spec new old stock tubes such as 6N30P-DR, 6N1P-VI, 6X4WA, and OA2 for power supply stabilization. The preamplifier features custom-made toroidal transformers and high-capacitance audiophile-grade capacitors in the signal path, ensuring exceptional sound quality and low noise. It offers six inputs, each accepting balanced or single-ended feeds, with gold-plated RCA and XLR connectors. The volume control uses relay-activated matched resistors for precise attenuation with many steps, and the unit includes a remote control for volume and mute functions. The chassis is solid aluminum with large heatsinks as side panels, and the preamp is capable of driving loads as low as 600 ohms. It has a frequency response of 0.07 Hz to 300 kHz (-3 dB), signal-to-noise ratio greater than 95 dB (A-weighted), and total harmonic distortion plus noise below 0.03% at 1V RMS. The unit weighs approximately 37.4 lbs (17 kg) and measures 18.8" W x 6.4" H x 17.7" D. It is manufactured in Serbia and
