About J.C. Verdier
J.C. Verdier is a French high-end audio brand, founded in 1972 by Jean Constant Verdier. Renowned for its innovative approach, the company is particularly famous for the 'Platine Verdier' turntable, which pioneered the use of magnetic suspension bearings to isolate sound from mechanical disturbances. Over decades, J.C. Verdier also became known for hand-crafted tube amplifiers, all reflecting a philosophy of precise, traditional craftsmanship and minimalist design. After Jean C. Verdier's passing in 2014, the company continued under family management. In late 2024, J.C. Verdier was acquired by Audio Tuning (parent company of Pro-Ject), which is reviving production of classic turntables and tube amplifiers, honoring the original designs and legacy of Jean C. Verdier.
