About the WLA 12
The Wright Sound WLA 12 is a tube line stage preamplifier made in the USA, known for its minimalist design with no printed circuit boards, using hard-wired point-to-point construction. It features two outputs, four inputs plus a tape input, and a 0 dB/-10 dB/full mute output switch. The preamp uses two 6SN7 tubes as drivers, rectification by a 6X5 tube, and filtering by a 6EM7 tube. It has a switchable high (20 dB) or low gain setting, a mono switch, and a tape loop. The frequency response is better than 20 Hz to 20 kHz. It is compact in size for easy placement and is highly regarded for its linearity and sound quality. The WLA 12 is considered a vintage and rare piece, often sought after by audiophiles.
