About the SCP-2B
The Vendetta Research SCP-2B is a solid-state, RIAA-equalized phono preamplifier designed for moving-coil cartridges by John Curl. Its dual-mono design uses separate left- and right-channel audio circuits and separate power supplies. It provides approximately 62 dB of gain at 1 kHz, continuously variable input loading from 10 to 200 ohms, and adjustment up to 47 kΩ. The SCP-2B does not invert polarity. Published specifications include a 0.1 Hz–1 MHz frequency response, 90 dBA signal-to-noise ratio, RIAA accuracy of ±0.1 dB from 10 Hz to 100 kHz, and THD and intermodulation distortion of 0.01% or less at 3 V output. It is housed in a 19-inch-wide chassis and was produced as a high-end, limited-era phono component.
