About the SRM-353X
The Stax SRM-353X is an exclusive driver unit amplifier for Stax electrostatic earspeaker headphones. It employs original low noise dual FET at the first stage and an all-stage direct coupling Class A DC amplifier configuration with no coupling capacitors, resulting in natural tone quality with a large amount of detail. The amplifier has an improved emitter follower at the output stage for wide-range reproduction, extending dynamic range at high frequencies and improving overall tonal quality. It includes both RCA and XLR balanced input terminals (mutually exclusive), allowing connection to a wide range of audio equipment. The volume control is a custom-made 2-axis, 4-gang design. The chassis is made of extravagant non-magnetic aluminum alloy, and components are carefully hand-selected for tonal quality and performance with minimal aging characteristics. The unit is designed and handmade in Japan, operating at 120V/60Hz with a 1-year U.S. limited warranty.
