The Taurus Pre is a solid-state, balanced-output line-stage preamplifier and headphone amplifier designed with Class A circuitry. It offers three stereo single-ended analogue inputs via RCA jacks and one stereo balanced analogue input via XLR connectors. Outputs include one stereo pair each of variable-level single-ended outputs (RCA) and balanced outputs (XLR), plus two stereo headphone outputs via 6.35mm TRS jacks. It delivers a frequency response of 20Hz to 20kHz ±0.1dB and 3Hz to 300kHz ±3dB, with distortion and noise below 0.001% THD+N (20Hz-20kHz). Gain is 10dB for XLR inputs and 16dB for RCA inputs, with maximum swing voltages of 24Vrms (XLR) and 12Vrms (RCA). The unit has a dynamic range greater than 130dB (A-weighted), crosstalk below -80dB at 1kHz, and power dissipation of 25W max.
