The Assemblage ST-300B is a single-ended triode (SET) stereo amplifier built around the 300B vacuum tube, capable of delivering approximately 8 watts per channel. It can also be bridged to operate in mono mode, doubling the output power to about 16 watts. The amplifier is designed without global negative feedback to preserve sound purity and allows users to select their preferred 300B output tubes, as these are not included with the base amplifier to keep costs down. The amp features high-quality components such as Vishay resistors, Rubycon Black Gate electrolytic capacitors, Multicap RTX polystyrene capacitors, silver input wiring, Kimber RCA jacks, Cardas binding posts, and E.A.R. isolation feet in its upgrade kit. The transformers are large and heavy, contributing to the amplifier's robust sound and weight (approximately 55 lbs packed). It includes a mute/operate switch and comes with an original construction and operation manual. The amplifier is highly regarded for its detailed, vibrant, and rich sound, especially when paired with high-efficiency speakers. The assembly time for the upgrade kit is estimated at 8-14 hours, depending on the assembler's experience. The amplifier was factory-built in Canada by Sonic Frontiers/Parts Connection.
